Does Scotsburn have gluten free
products?
All of Scotsburn's milk, chocolate milk,
butter, sour cream, cottage cheese, egg
nog, juices, water, blend, coffee, whipping
cream, and buttermilk are all gluten
free. The fat free dips are also gluten
free except for Herb and Spice.
Scotsburn produces its ice cream in a facility that uses gluten ingredients in some of its products so these products can not be considered “Gluten Free”, however the following ice cream flavours do contain specific gluten ingredients.

Does Scotsburn make any peanut free
products?
Yes, we produce five flavours of
ice cream (vanilla, chocolate,
strawberry, caramel and cotton candy)
and 1 flavour of frozen yogourt (vanilla)
that are designated as peanut free. These
products are manufactured using only
peanut free ingredients in our Saint
John, NB facility where approved
training and product testing procedures
have been implemented.
Other Scotsburn
or Frosty Friend branded ice cream
and frozen yogourt products are manufactured
in a different facility in a manner
that requires flavours not containing
nut ingredients to be produced at
the start of the day after the equipment
has been cleaned and sanitized. Those
flavours containing nuts are produced
near the end of the production runs.
This process provides a better opportunity
to reduce the chances of cross contamination
of flavours that do not contain nut
ingredients. However even with
these safety precautions in place,
we provide allergy information on
our ice cream packaging to make consumers
with allergies aware of the possibility
of cross contamination so that they
can make an informed choice about
the purchase of our products.
I have an
egg allergy. Is your
milk safe for me to drink during
eggnog season?
To eliminate the possibility of egg
protein contamination of our fluid
milk during eggnog season, Scotsburn’s
eggnog products have been reformulated
with ingredients that do not contain
egg products. This enables
consumers with egg allergies to feel
confident about consuming Scotsburn’s
fluid milk and eggnog.
